OUT OF MY HANDS LETTERFORM WORKSHOP
Co-Create Letterforms: Follow the workshop instructions to co-create letterforms. As you develop your rule, consider that the goal is to produce something visually interesting.
File Prep: Scan your letter in black and white at about 600 ppi. In Photoshop erase everything but the letter itself. Increase the contrast to make conversion to outlines simpler. Convert the letterform to outlines in Illustrator using Image Trace (Window>Image Trace). In Image Trace, change the “Preset” to “Sketched Art.” Clean up the resulting vector. Redo muddy areas to preserve legibility. Save it as an Illustrator file, a “smallest file size” pdf, and as a 300 ppi jpg. Upload all to the specified source.
